SCSE stands for Southern California Sound Ecology.
SCSE also stands for Southern California Soundscape Ensemble.
SCSE is dedicated to fostering a deeper sense of connection to our sonic environment through the act of careful listening, soundwalks, listening salons, soundscape concerts, and other activities related to acoustic ecology.
SCSE performs unrehearsed, completely improvised soundscapes using only unprocessed field recordings gathered from places all over the world. The flexible membership of SCSE includes: Glenn Bach, j.frede, shea M gauer, Jorge Martin, Alan Nakagawa, Joseph Richard Negro, Jasmine Orpilla, Albert Ortega, scott A peterson, Michael Raco-Rands, and Marco Schindelmann. Non-performing members include Nick Antonio, Alicia Byer, and Rychard Cooper.
