SCSE stands for Southern California Soundscape Ensemble.

SCSE is dedicated to fostering a deeper sense of connection to our sonic environment through the act of careful listening, soundwalks, listening salons, soundscape concerts, and other activities related to acoustic ecology.

SCSE performs unrehearsed, completely improvised soundscapes using only unprocessed field recordings gathered from places all over the world. The ensemble rarely patches through a p.a. but prefers to spread out around the performance space with localized amplification. The flexible membership of SCSE includes: Glenn Bach, j.frede, shea M gauer, Phil Mantione, Jorge Martin, Alan Nakagawa, Joseph Richard Negro, Jasmine Orpilla, scott A peterson, Michael Raco-Rands, Marco Schindelmann, and Angela Willcocks.
